Ronson Rondelights

I am told that Ronson produced 30 to 40 different Rondelight models. Most are very art deco in design, with a shiny chrome and black finish.

The image below shows the size variation in four of the different Rondelight models. (I believe there are two other Rondelight models that I don't have: a leather-covered Rondelight and a very rare solid Rondelight.)

The Rondelight Baby and Golf Ball (Bogey) are the size of a ping-pong ball.
The Rondelight Junior and Ronson Cricket Ball are the size of a billiard ball.
The Rondelight Standard is the size of a tennis ball.

For some of these Rondelight models, only a few are known to exist today. Some models, however, are common.

Rondelight Modernistic Dancer

This Ronson Rondelight lighter from the mid-1930s is one of the rarer models.

This model combines a small modernistic dancer figure and a Rondelight lighter on a small rectanular base.

Rondelight Pedestal

This small table lighter is a baby Rondelight lighter permanently mounted on a small, stair-stepped chrome base.

The overall height of the lighter is only 2-3/4".

Rondelight Cigarette Box Set

This Ronson Rondelight lighter from the mid-1930s is one of the rarer models.

This model combines a single deco cigarette box with a pedestal-mounted Rondelight Baby lighter, on a rectangular chrome base.

I'm not sure, but the base and cigarette box look similar to the New Yorker and Baronet cigarette box sets.

Rondelight Egyptian Girl

This Ronson Rondelight lighter from the mid-1930s is one of the rarer models.

The figure is a reclining young Egyptian woman holding a Rondelight ball lighter.

Rondelight Modern Dancer

This Ronson Rondelight lighter from the mid-1930s is one of the rarer models.

The figure is a modern dancer with a baby Rondelight ball lighter resting on the base.

Rondelight Modern Dancer

This Ronson Rondelight is another version of the modern dancer figure.

Another variation of this model has the figure holding a small black ashtray.

Rondelight Dancer Kicker

This Ronson Rondelight lighter is an abstract dancer or kicker figure, combined with a baby Rondelight lighter and black pottery ashtray.

Rondelight Tennis Player

This Ronson Rondelight is another in a series of chrome athletic figures combined with a small ball-shaped lighter.

The tennis player figure has a very appealing modernistic design.

Rondelight Roadrunner

This Ronson Rondelight is another in a series of chrome figures (in this case a bird) combined with a ball-shaped lighter.

Rondelight Horse

This Ronson Rondelight is another in a series of chrome figurals (in this case a horse) combined with a ball-shaped lighter and a black pottery ashtray.

Rondelight Polo Player

This Ronson Rondelight is one of a series of chrome athletic figures combined with a small ball-shaped lighter. I think the Polo player is one of the more artistic designs in this series of lighters (all of which are hard to find).

Rondelight Golfer with Ashtray

This Ronson Rondelight is another in a series of chrome athletic figures combined with a small ball-shaped lighter and pottery ashtray.

A rarer version of this lighter was also made using a modernistic golfer figure (compared to the realistic golfer figure used in this lighter).

Rondelight Golfer without Ashtray

This Ronson Rondelight is another in a series of chrome athletic figures combined with a small ball-shaped lighter.

Rondelight Ashtray

This Ronson Rondelight is a combination lighter and bowl-shaped ashtray (with a black glass insert). In this model that I acquired, the black insert is not original, but looks very close to the original.

Rondelight Diving Woman

This Ronson Rondelight diving woman lighter is one of several "athletic" figures. There is also a golfer, polo player, football player, tennis player, and so.

They were made in the mid- to late-1930s and are rather hard to find.

Rondelight Dancer Ashtray

This mid-1930s Ronson figural lighter combines a modern dancer figure with a chrome ashtray stand and a Rondelight ball lighter in front--all on a black enamel base.

A variety of these Rondelight figural table lighters were made (most with a sports motif).

Click to see an enlarged photo of this lighter showing the glass ashtray.

Rondelight Figural Ballerina

This Ronson lighter was made around 1935. Ronson made several table lighters using the Rondelight Baby ball lighter (which is only 1-5/8" in diameter). Some of these were figural lighters (a modern dancer, athletic figures) and some of these were combination cigarette boxes and a lighter or combination ashtray and a lighter.

Rondelight Baby Lighters

These are three Ronson Rondelight Baby lighters. These are the smallest of the Ronson Rondelight ball lighters (about the size of a ping pong ball).

One has a black stripe, one has a green stripe, and one has an ivory stripe.
